Additional information regarding the recent USPS rate filing and how it will affect Standard Mail Nonprofit rates is now available.

The Standard Mail Nonprofit rate increase varies substantially by shape, presort level, and entry point.  For example, rates for origin-entered Automation Letters will decrease by ~3-4 percent while rates for destination-entered Automation Letters will increase by ~3-4 percent.

Highlights of the Periodicals rate change are that the Postal Service will maintain the current pound rates and Carrier Route Basic piece rate and increase the 5-Digit Automation Flat piece rate by three percent.

We encourage you to work with your mail service providers to determine the effect of the rate increase on your organization based upon the specific characteristics of your mailings.  In particular, the Postal Service is eliminating FSS pricing in both Periodicals and Standard Mail in January 2017.  Those of you that mail flat-shaped mail will need to work with your providers to understand the implications of this change on your postage.
