The American Lung Association — leading the way in helping all Americans breathe easier.

The American Lung Association is the leading organization working to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. They do this through education, advocacy and research. For more than 100 years, we have led the fight for healthy lungs and healthy air.  Whether it’s searching for cures to lung diseases, keeping kids off tobacco, or fighting for laws that protect the air we all breathe, the ALA is the leader.

Our Mission: To save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.

Our Vision: A world free of lung disease.

Our Strategic Imperatives:

  • Defeat lung cancer.
  • Improve the air we breathe so it will not cause or worsen lung disease.
  • Reduce the burden of lung disease on individuals and their families.
  • Eliminate tobacco use and tobacco-related diseases.
  • Monitor and enhance organizational effectiveness

In Craig’s Words

“The Alliance of Nonprofit Mailers has given our organization a voice on Capitol Hill, at the Postal Service, and at the Postal Regulatory Commission. Our membership has saved us millions of dollars in postage so that we can put a larger share of the donations toward our mission of saving lives by preventing lung disease and promoting lung health. The Alliance is a well respected presence in the mailing industry and is the single strongest voice for nonprofit organizations in the postal arena. We have excellent resources in our leadership and consultants, as well as hundreds of years of expertise in our membership. Our membership fees have been paid for dozens of times over in cost savings!”
