About the Alliance: Staff

Anthony W. Conway
Executive Director, Alliance of Nonprofit Mailers

Tony Conway became the fourth Executive Director of the Alliance of Nonprofit Mailers in July 2006. Conway, a 34-year veteran of the United States Postal Service, has held a number of different management positions within the Agency. He most recently served as Manager of Government Relations, directing the legislative and public policy relations with major mailers, trade associations, postal unions and management associations.

Tony’s Postal Service career includes assignments in the Postal Inspection Service, operations, and media relations. The majority of his experience is in government relations. He has managed relations with the Postal Service’s oversight committees and the appropriations subcommittees in the House of Representatives and United States Senate. Conway was actively involved in drafting the 2000 legislation that allows the preferred rate discounts for nonprofit mailers.

Tony Conway is among the most knowledgeable and well-regarded professionals in the postal policy arena. His experience within the postal service and the highly collaborative relationships he has built with colleagues across all segments of the postal community will be tremendous assets as he advances the continuing leadership role of the Alliance in representing nonprofit mailers.

Tony received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Virginia. He completed the Executive Leadership Program at the Darden Graduate Business School of the University of Virginia. He has also completed graduate business management work at American University.

The Alliance of Nonprofit Mailers is a national association of nonprofit organizations that use the mails to raise funds, solicit members and disseminate information. The Alliance is the primary representative of nonprofit mailers in postal rate litigation before the Postal Regulatory Commission and is a highly-respected advocate before Congress, the US Postal Service and other agencies to protect nonprofit postal privileges.
