  1. Alliance and MPA Request Changes to PRC Procedural Schedule

RE: STATUTORY REVIEW OF THE SYSTEM FOR REGULATING RATES AND CLASSES FOR MARKET DOMINANT PRODUCTS

The Alliance of Nonprofit Mailers, along with MPA, filed a motion to modify the procedural schedule that the Postal Regulatory Commission has proposed.

We respectfully request two changes:

  • Allow a round of reply comments in response to the comments due on March 20.
  • Comments on specific regulatory changes should be deferred until the Commission has determined whether, and in what specific respects, the Commission believes that the current regulatory system is failing to satisfy the objectives and factors of 39 U.S.C. §§ 3622(b) and (c).
  1. Alliance and MPA Request Information Necessary to Evaluate Achievement of Regulatory Objectives

RE: STATUTORY REVIEW OF THE SYSTEM FOR REGULATING RATES AND CLASSES FOR MARKET DOMINANT PRODUCTS

The Alliance of Nonprofit Mailers, along with MPA, filed a motion to ask that the Postal Regulatory Commission request information of the U.S. Postal Service. The requested information is necessary to an informed analysis of whether the current regulatory system has achieved several of the objectives set by Congress.

The categories are:

  1. Valuation of the Postal Service’s Future Liabilities to Retirees
  2. Valuation of the Postal Service’s Real Estate
  3. The Pay Comparability Requirement
  4. The Flats Sequencing System (“FSS”)
