
Tracey Burgoon was named Chief Development Officer for the more than 1 million-member DAV in January 2022. In this role, she is responsible for the oversight of all fundraising efforts of the DAV and affiliated organizations. This includes fundraising programs utilizing direct-mail marketing, online campaigns, planned giving, major gifts and corporate giving as the source of substantial and significantly increasing revenue streams to support DAV programs.
Prior to her promotion Tracey was the director of marketing and oversaw the direct marketing fundraising and membership solicitation activities through direct mail, direct response television and telemarketing for the nonprofit organization at DAV National Headquarters in Erlanger, Kentucky.
The daughter, wife and mother of lifetime DAV members, Burgoon is also active in the volunteer side of the organization as a life member of DAV Auxiliary Unit 1 in Cincinnati. She began her career with DAV in 1997 as the assistant manager of fundraising.
Before joining the DAV staff, she was with Harte-Hanks Direct Marketing, where she served as senior account executive of national sales, gaining wide professional experience in team management, communications, training and marketing management and also served as the President of the Cincinnati Direct Marketing Association.
A business administration and marketing major from Cincinnati’s Mount Saint Joseph University and the University of Cincinnati, Burgoon served as the chair of the ANA Nonprofit Federation (ANANF), where she led efforts in the transition of the DMA Nonprofit Federation to the ANANF, both of which have been aggressive and effective advocates for nonprofits in postal, regulatory, legislative, and accountability issues. She also is on the board and the treasurer of the Executive Committee of the Alliance of Nonprofit Mailers, a grassroots organization of nonprofits working to preserve affordable, reliable U.S. Mail so that our nation’s nonprofits continue to fulfill vital missions. She serves on the board of Camp Corral, an organization dedicated to transforming the lives of children of wounded, ill, and fallen military heroes by providing camp, advocacy, and enrichment programs.
In 2023, Burgoon received the Max Hart Achievement Award. The award recognizes outstanding career achievements by a fundraising professional. Tracey was also recognized as the 2016 Envisionary by Envision Ohio for her dedication and commitment to providing opportunities for people who are differently capable through free programs she offers at her dance studio for her Wonders on Wheels (WOW) dance troupe and Dancers on the Spectrum classes. In 2016, her choreography for WOW had more than 83 million views on Facebook and over 1.3 million views on YouTube, and was featured on USAToday.com, People.com, ellentube and Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls.
Tracey and her husband, John, a U.S. Army veteran, reside in Cincinnati’s Westside. Her daughter, Maddie, is the Associate Artistic Director of The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati. Her son, Sean, is a disabled Air Force veteran who served through multiple deployments.
