Nonprofit Mailers Well-Represented on Marketing Mail Task Team: Hopeful for Positive Results

With several MTAC members representing nonprofits on the Marketing Mail Task Team, we are cautiously optimistic. It has been 166 days since the Postal Service announced it was contemplating changes to the rules about allowable content in Marketing Mail (Standard Mail). The initial proposal from USPS would ban all merchandise from MM. The nonprofit sector has been very responsive in communicating the importance of front-end and back-end premiums in fundraising and membership mail. Now the task team is working on the details, starting with the comments that were submitted by customers. We will keep our members posted.
