We Welcome Brigitte Schmidt Gwyn to MPA

The Alliance extends a warm welcome to Brigitte Schmitt Gwyn, who today took over the role held by our friend Jim Cregan for many years.  We look forward to a close working relationship with Brigitte, Rita Cohen, and MPA.

MPA—THE ASSOCIATION OF MAGAZINE MEDIA TAPS BRIGITTE SCHMIDT GWYN AS EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS

WASHINGTON, D.C. – JANUARY 2, 2019 – Brigitte Schmidt Gwyn will join MPA – The Association of Magazine Media as its new Executive Vice President, Government Affairs, effective January 2.

Gwyn will lead government relations for the magazine media industry and the hundreds of MPA member brands. In this role, she will develop, direct and implement effective advocacy efforts for all current and emerging issues affecting magazine media on the state, local and international level.

Gwyn brings twenty-five years of public policy, legislative and government relations experience, most recently with Accenture as Managing Director of Government Affairs. Prior to Accenture, she was Vice President of Global Government Relations at Kellogg Company, and has held leadership roles at Business Roundtable and American Express. Earlier in her career she served in the offices of U.S. Representatives Jim Kolbe and Michael Andrews.

Gwyn received a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from the University of Houston. She will be based in MPA’s Washington, D.C. office.
